SARAH HANNER IS AN AWARD-WINNING WRITER AND DIRECTOR LIVING IN LOS ANGELES AND IDYLLWILD, CALIFORNIA.

Hanner’s dark stories and psychological thrillers reveal the pathways into the human psyche, as seen in her newest short film Bläckfisk, a story about love and relationships told through the shadow. Hanner received her undergraduate degree in English Literature and Creative Writing at the prestigious University of Washington's creative writing program, and later her MA degree in Psychology. She is a self-taught artist across multiple mediums focusing primarily on filmmaking because it incorporates all of her passions: writing, visual artistry, music, and performance. Hanner received a visual fine art education during her work at DPA Fine Art Consulting, where she curated art collections for dignitaries, luxury hospitality properties, and serious collectors worldwide. Sarah is currently at work on the feature film version of her award-winning short Bläckfisk, and is adapting her recently published dark thriller short story “Sisters”. Hanner graduated from UCB’s 500 series improv training and is a published short story author. Her first TV project, “Playdates”, starring Paul Scheer, was selected and premiered at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival.
