SARAH HANNER IS AN AWARD-WINNING WRITER AND DIRECTOR LIVING IN LOS ANGELES AND IDYLLWILD, CALIFORNIA.
Hanner’s dark stories and psychological thrillers reveal the pathways into the human psyche, as seen in her newest film Bläckfisk, a story about love and relationships told through the shadow. Hanner received her undergraduate degree in English Literature and Creative Writing at the prestigious University of Washington's creative writing program, and later her MA degree in Psychology. She is a self-taught artist across multiple mediums focusing primarily on filmmaking because it incorporates all of her passions: writing, visual artistry, music, and performance. Sarah received a visual fine art education during her work at DPA Fine Art Consulting, where she curated art collections for dignitaries, luxury hospitality properties, and serious collectors from around the world. As a psychologist, she has provided healing to scores of people and has used her own healing journey to return to authentic expression and pure creative potential as an artist. Hanner is currently at work on two full-length feature film scripts, including an adaptation of her recent dark thriller short story “Sisters”, and has just completed a female-driven, dark comedy pilot. Sarah is a graduate of UCB’s 500 series improv training and is a published short story and non-fiction author. Sarah's first TV project, "Playdates", starring Paul Scheer, was selected and premiered at the 2017 Sundance film festival.
